Spiritual Growth

10:30 AM Sunday Morning Adult Book Group

The Sunday morning 10:30 class will begin again on January 6. The book for winter and spring is The End of Faith by Sam Harris. The class will meet each Sunday at 10:30 unless there is a forum (Jan. 13, Feb. 10, Mar. 9, Apr. 13).

Tuesday AM Bible Study

This group meets on Tuesdays, September to May, from 9:30–11:30 am. Open to all men and women interested in studying the Bible and other spiritual growth literature. On March 25, Becky Sechrist will lead a conversation about our Social Principles and the upcoming General Conference. April 1 will be a study of Mary Magdalene, who is she? What was her relationship to Jesus? How is she portrayed in the gospels? On April 8, we turn our attention to Judas Iscariot, exploring the recently reported Gospel of Judas. April 15, 22, and 29 will be our short study of John Shelby Spong’s most recent book, Jesus for the Non-Religious. Carol Smith just finished leading an 8-week study of the book and will do a summary in three weeks for this class.

If you are interested in being part of a group, or would like more information about such groups, you can email Dan Johnson or call him at the church office.

Good Samaritan Prayer Chain

Are you aware there are two prayer chains to help keep you informed of concerns and prayer requests from church members and friends? The first and oldest is the telephone prayer chain. The second is e-mail generated. If you wish to put something on the prayer chain OR become part of the chain, email Mary Parsons at Mary@good.org or contact her in the church office at 952.929.0049, ext. 221.

You are Invited To Take A Spiritual Gifts Inventory

This brief SPIRITUAL GIFTS INVENTORY is offered online by the United Methodist Church. Once you go to this link, select the rectangle to the right that says "Online Gifts Assessment" and begin taking the inventory. Upon completion of taking the inventory your results will be displayed. Please print out a copy of the results as the program does not save your information. Please send an e-mail to Becky Sechrist listing your top 6 gifts in the order they were given to you so that we are able to do a better job of matching people to opportunities within the church. Don't forget to include your name in the email. Thank you!
